Education in Eritrea :

Usually, pre-primary, primary, middle, secondary, and post-secondary are taught in Eritrea in these 5 steps. Education levels are conducted with different students at different levels. There are many schools, 2 universities, institutes and colleges, and technical schools in Eritrea.

Compulsory education is provided to children between the ages of 6 and 13, and elementary education is provided up to 7 years in Eritrea, and junior high school is middle school. After 4 years of study, one has to pass secondary school and then take a post-secondary-advanced diploma in 3 years. Then 4/5 years are spent for graduation and 2 years for the latest higher education master’s degree.

The main reason for the slowdown in education in Eritrea is the traditional restrictions that are responsible for the low school fees of low-income families.
The Eritrea Institute of Technology “EIT” has three colleges: Science, Engineering and Technology and Education located near Himbarty in the town of Mai Nefhi.

The first EIT was opened at Asmara University in Eritrea and the university made efforts for higher education and as a result of its successful operation, many more similar colleges were established outside the capital.
Another institution in Eritrea for higher education in science, engineering, and education is the Institute of Technology.
