Guinea Education :
Prior to Guinea’s independence, the primary school education system was governed by French law.
Nationalized in 1961 and made primary education free and officially compulsory for 7- to 13-year-olds. Usually, a child has to spend 6 years for primary education and then finish primary education.
After primary education, you have to go to lower secondary school to get a certificate/diploma and in lower secondary, you have to spend 13 to 17 years and then you have to finish lower secondary education.
For academic higher secondary a student has to be 17 to 20 years old and has to spend 3 years time. After that, a student has to spend 2 years for Undergraduate First Stage. After that, a student has to spend 1 year for Undergraduate Second Stage. After that, a student has to spend 2 years for a Master’s. After that, a student has to spend 3 to 7 years for a doctorate.
Guinea has a vocational education system and a few traditional industries, and vocational education is formally held. The locals consider handicrafts and business as necessary so this industry plays an important role and so they are passed by the masters themselves.
Third education is conducted in French courts in Guinea, and there are a number of institutions of higher learning, including higher education and scientific research, both public and private.
Université Gamal Abdel Nasser de Conakry is Guinea’s top university and was founded in 1962 and in 1963 Université Julius N’yerere Kankan Guinée. Each university offers licensed and doctoral degrees, including medicine and health professions.
